Youth Ski Programs & Biathlon
The Methow Valley Nordic Ski Educational Foundation (MVNSEF) provides youth winter camps and a competitive ski team, nurturing athletes from learn-to-ski through racing.
Linda Kimbrell founded both the Nordic and biathlon programs in 1991. The programs were then built to national and international competition level by Leslie Hall (Olympian), Laura McCabe (Olympian, whose daughter is also now an Olympian), and Betsy Devin Smith (biathlon coach). World Cup and Olympic athletes have come out of the program. She founded it, but it is the others who made it what it is today, and the community has made it happen.
My daughter Eva went through both the Nordic and biathlon programs. The community dedication to these programs is what makes the Methow Valley truly special.
